Founded in 1913 to give Jewish men a home on campus. At SMU we are the Tau Chi Chapter, and the door is open.
01 / Who we are
Nine men started this chapter in 2014. What they built is the reason sixty of us call each other brothers.
Alpha Epsilon Pi came to Southern Methodist University as a colony in March 2014, co-founded by nine students. A year later we chartered as the Tau Chi Chapter, the first colony in roughly three decades to join SMU's Interfraternity Council.
We are a Jewish fraternity, and we are not a closed one. Our purpose is to develop leaders for the Jewish community and beyond, and we take both halves of that sentence seriously.

AEPi was founded to give Jewish men a home on campus. We keep that purpose alive through Shabbat dinners, holidays, and an open door for every brother.

Charitable giving is an obligation, not an afterthought. We raise money and swab cheeks for causes that save actual lives.

Every brother runs something. Chapter office, philanthropy, a campus organization. You leave knowing how to hold a room and a budget.

A cheek swab takes thirty seconds. It can buy someone decades.
AEPi's national philanthropy partner is the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. Chapters across the country run swab drives that put donors into the registry and match them with patients who need a transplant.
Alongside Gift of Life, Tau Chi supports Jewish and Dallas-area causes throughout the year, and we open our philanthropy events to the whole campus.
