Charity is an obligation, not a line item.
Tzedakah is one of our four pillars. In practice that means swab drives, fundraisers, and showing up when the community needs bodies in a room.
The Hebrew word tzedakah is usually translated as charity, but it is closer to justice. It is not generosity you opt into when you feel like it. It is something you owe.
That framing shapes how this chapter approaches philanthropy. We are not chasing a number to put on a banner. We are trying to be useful.

Gift of Life Marrow Registry
AEPi's national philanthropy partner. Chapters run cheek-swab drives that add donors to the bone marrow registry, where a single match can be the difference between a terminal diagnosis and a transplant.

Jewish life at SMU
We work alongside Hillel and other Jewish organizations on campus, from holiday programming to standing up for Jewish students when it matters.

Dallas community
Local service and fundraising throughout the year. Our philanthropy events are open to the entire campus, not just Greek life.

Thirty seconds. One swab.
Getting on the registry takes a cheek swab and a form. If you are between 18 and 35 and in good health, you are eligible, and you may never be called. But if you are, you are the only person on earth who matches.
