01, Recruitment
Rush is free. Come see if it fits.
You do not have to be Jewish, you do not have to know anyone, and you do not have to decide anything on the first night.
02 / How it works
- 01
Show up
Come to any rush event. No RSVP, no cost, no commitment. Wear whatever you would wear to class unless the event says otherwise.
- 02
Meet the chapter
Events are built so you actually talk to people. Ask hard questions. Ask about dues, time commitment, and what a bad week looks like.
- 03
Keep coming back
Come to a few. We are trying to figure out if this is a fit as much as you are, and that does not happen in one night.
- 04
Get a bid
If it is a match, you receive a bid. Accepting it starts the new member period, run by our New Member Advisor.
Ask us the uncomfortable questions.
03 / Get in touch
Talk to the rush chair.
The fastest way in is a direct message or an email. A real brother reads it and a real brother replies.

04 / Straight answers
Questions worth asking.
-
Do I have to be Jewish to join?
No. AEPi is a Jewish fraternity and Jewish life is central to who we are, but membership is open to any man who supports our mission and values.
-
What does it cost?
Dues cover chapter operations, national fees, insurance, philanthropy, and social programming. We will give you the exact current figure in writing before you accept a bid, and we will walk you through payment plans. Ask the Exchequer directly.
-
How much time does it take?
Chapter meets weekly. Beyond that it scales with how involved you want to be. New members have additional required events during the new member period.
-
Is there hazing?
No. Hazing is prohibited by Alpha Epsilon Pi, by SMU, and by Texas law, and our chapter does not tolerate it. If anything ever crosses that line, tell the Master, the Sentinel, or SMU Fraternity and Sorority Life immediately.
-
Can I rush as a sophomore or later?
Yes. Most of our pledge classes include men who rushed after their first year.
-
What if I miss the formal rush week?
Reach out anyway. We do continuous open bidding when we have room.
